Are you a mother considering taking on a nanny and need further information about this person and not sure how to get
it? Or maybe you have already taken on a nanny that you are having reservations about and need to find out more
about her. If any of the above applies to you then you need to read this entire article.

If you are a mother and you have spent the last 2 years to 5 years bringing up your children as a full time profession
you may be considering going back to work and looking for a nanny to take care of the children.

It's tough being a full time mother and it is quite a natural feeling to get back into the outside world and escape from the
4 walls syndrome. You could be one of many mothers that loved their full time profession before the children came
along and would like to get back to it even on a part time basis. So who will look after the children?

In order to keep your children in the environment of their own home then the nanny option is probably the best one. You
can find a good agency to help you if there is one. Most agencies do a great job, but on occasions I have heard some
horror stories. It is a fact that if you start with an agency that supplies nanny to parents you would almost take it for
granted they would carry out an employment criminal background check and require references. However, this is not
always the case with all agencies and there is an element of risk to finding the right one. This is a task you cannot afford
to get wrong as the welfare of your children are at stake.

My advice here is not to rely on the agency but to carry out some investigations your self. When you interview a nanny
it's very difficult to ask personal questions, and even if you do, how do you know they would be telling the truth?

In the past this was a difficult task but thankfully not today. Did you know you can now go online and carry out an
employment criminal background check? This is a great facility. If the agency doesn't carry out this task, you can do it
in seconds. By finding out a persons name you are able to access very personal information, for example where they
live, how long they have lived there, previous address, whether they have ever been arrested and a host of further
information. You owe it to yourself to carry out an employment criminal background check.
