Read this before you trust any public records website

Public records websites have come a long way in the last few years. So many have sprung up in that time
that it is hard to tell who is genuine and who is not. You probably have read the numerous stories of
consumers being scammed out of their hard earned dollars by public records websites. These websites
promise but sometimes don't deliver vital information that consumers are requesting. So, the question
becomes, which websites can you trust and which ones should you avoid?

It is important to recognize that often times the information you seek can be obtained free of charge from
places like State and Federal Government websites. But whether you can obtain this information quickly
would depend on what type of information you need. If you are trying to do a background check, for
example, which would require multiple data from multiple sources, then you would need a venue such as
a public records website that compiles all the data under one umbrella. You could find and compile all the
background information on your own but this would require going to several different places and
countless hours of search. Public records websites put hundreds of millions, sometimes billions of
records at your fingertips. But which website can you trust?

Here are 5 criteria we use to determine a public records website trust worthiness:

  • Do they have updated and accurate Information
  • How large is their public records database
  • Is their price reasonable
  • Quality of service (ease of use, customer service, website user-friendliness)
  • Do they offer money back guarantee

It might come as a shock to learn that only one website actually met
and/or exceeded all of the above criteria.

We start with "money back guarantee" and quickly realize that approximately 80% of websites do not
meet this criteria. Why is money back guarantee mandatory? You need to have a safeguard in the event
you cannot find your search information or you are not satisfied with the overall service. The stories of
scams we read on the Internet by people who use public records websites only happened because there
    was no money back guarantee.

It is important that you make sure any public records website you
choose actually offers a "money back guarantee".

During our research, we were amazed at some of the things we were finding:

  • Some websites use the term “free search” but when you type in your information and expect to get free
results they tell you there is a fee involved. OK, so the search was free, let’s give them that. But that’s not
what consumers expect. When the word free is used the consumer is expecting everything to be free
    including the results.

  • We saw sites that will sign you up in good faith but as you begin to search, your search results are non-
existent. We concluded that a lot of these sites advertise that they possess a larger database size than
    they actually do.

  • Another problem we found with some sites is that their customer service can only be accessed via emails.
Consumers want answers instantly. They want to talk to a live person.

There are a few good sites out there, but because they do not offer a money back guarantee we do not
    consider them good enough.

We found one website that constantly met or exceeded all our criteria. We had heard a lot about this
particular website. They receive rave reviews from private investigators and consumers. Slowly but surely
we too were becoming believers. They state that their database contains over 1.1 Billion records
(standard database) and over 3.1 Billion records (premium database), plus they cover 90% of the US
population. The tests we conducted did not dispute any of these claims. Their customer service is top of
the line, a real live person. Over 750,000 users trust their service. They offer a full 90-day money back
guarantee. They are used daily by private investigators nationwide.

    What’s the website in question?
